Plessy V. Ferguson- plessy dissent

In 1896 a constitutional law case of the Supreme Court, it was about racial segregation in the states about laws regarding public facilities under the doctrine of "separate but equal." This landmark constitutional law case was known as "Plessy v. Ferguson." The decision came down to a vote of 7 to 1.

majority opinion- Henry Billings Brown

dissent- John Marshall Harlan

Until 1954, "separate but equal" was the main standard doctrine but then moved to the S.C. decision "Brown v. Board of Education"

- Ferguson's judgment did not violate the 14th amendment

- Plessy's arguments about the 14th Amendment were rejected by the Court
